Students from the school Reuchlin-Gymnasiumm present their findings on the history of Ornamenta 1 as part of a project organised by the Löbliche Singergesellschaft. The first ORNAMENTA took place in Pforzheim exactly 35 years ago in 1989. At that time, the focus was on international jewellery art. For several weeks, Pforzheim was the venue for exhibits by 222 artists and designers from 23 countries and became the world capital of contemporary avant-garde jewellery for a few weeks. Many Pforzheim residents will never forget the hill in front of the Jewellery Museum, where jewellery and accessories by celebrities were on display.
The event "Ornamenta 1" akes place on the occasion of the Ornamenta 2024 Lust program and is part of the theme Schmutzige Ecke. All Ornamenta Lust programmes are mainly German spoken but you are welcome to join.
