Located in the Schmutzige Ecke neighborhood, the Zonta Club Pforzheim is committed to drawing public attention to violence against women. It is in a performance that the fate of 188 women who were victims of femicide in the year 2022 will be brought to light: a protest march of 188 women from various nationalities will make their way to the marketplace in Pforzheim, where 188 stones will be piled up into a burial mound. The TanzTheater Pforzheim is expected to give a special dance performance for the occasion.
Each pair stands for a murdered woman, 155 in 2023. The performance involves just as many women, each taking a pair and placing it in the marketplace.
The event “NEIN zu Gewalt gegen Frauen” is organized on the occasion of the Ornamenta 2024 Lust Programme, corresponding to the theme Schmutzige Ecke. All Ornamenta Lust programmes are mainly German spoken but you are welcome to join.
