Sharing Air As a Unifying Element
The Black Forest air is a high-quality common good. What are new ways for different regional and visiting communities to share this accessible wealth? By engaging in the collective act of inhaling air we aim for what unites us rather than divides us. In the ‘Luftkurort’ (air-spa town) Neubulach a collective breathing session following instructions of artist Minne Kersten and curator Jules van den Langenberg takes place. Located at an altitude of six hundred meters, the climatic health resort Heilstollen Neubulach collaborates on a relaxing session inside the healing cave where purified and mineralized air clear up the human airways. Twenty stretchers with sleeping beds welcome those interested to lie down and take a rest while letting whispers and words about sharing air run through their heads.
